Residential care at Hassan Academy

A home. Not just a hostel.

For children who need more than a school day — and for those who have nowhere else to call home.

The promise that sets us apart

When parents are gone, we do not send the children away.

This is the question every parent of a child with severe disabilities carries: what happens when I am no longer here? Who will take care of my child when I am gone, or when I am too old?

At most institutions, the answer is difficult. At Hassan Academy, it is simple. Children who have no family to return to — whose parents have passed away or whose elderly parents can no longer care for them — remain here. They are not transitioned out, not referred elsewhere. They stay. This is their home, for as long as they need it.

This commitment costs money and it costs something harder to quantify — consistency of care from people who know each child by name, by habit, by preference. The team at Hassan Academy has made that commitment. It is the most important thing we do.
